For those who would like to come personally for an interview to the University along with submitting your documents, then the University mentions on the official application form that:
-
Applicants may apply for admission for all stages in the period between October 23 and January 20 each year.
However, the University usually allows people to apply and grants them interviews as soon as school starts at the beginning of the adademic year. A good time to visit and apply is during Ramadhan, but make sure you get it done before Hajj. Students can still send in their applications by mail after Hajj, or visit to apply and get interviewed after Hajj, but those applications will be processed for the year after the following and not the following year of which the application was given in. However, due to the differences between the Hijri and Gregorian calendar, Hajj season is always being pulled back a few days every year, so dates do change, meaning, there are always exceptions to the rules as to when the exact final cutoff date is for applications to be considered for the following year.
It is highly advisable to visit the University administrative offices with a current student when you go personally for the interview. The current student in most cases will be present with you translating for you the questions of the interviewer if he does not speak English.
Allah is the granter of Success and may the Salaat and the Salaam be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.
[...] Personally visiting the Islamic University of Madinah and getting interviewed. Usually those who personally come to get interviewed are given precedence over those sending applications by mail/post. [...]
I will like to apply

As Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
The Islamic University of Madinah is a male-only university. There is no section currently for female students.
Your best option is to apply to Umm al-Qura University in Makkah. Umm al-Qura University presents the best opportunity for non-Saudi female students of knowledge to study in a formal classroom setting. The system at Umm al-Qura allows for the wife [or sister] of an existing student to study at the womens’ section of the University. Their program also allows single women to study if they have Mahrams (guardians) that are legal residents of Makkah.

Selamu Alaikum dear brother Abu Abdullaah,
I’m really glad that there are people like you who helps young moslims who want to studying Saudi Arabia.
Jazaku allahu Khairan.
Dear brother I am also intending to apply to the three universities in Saudi Arabia (Medinah, Makkah en Ryiad) inshallah end of this year. This site gave me lots of information about the requirement documents etc. But I have a small question if you don’t might. Look I am living in Holland and I am 18 years old, you perhaps know here in Holland or the Netherlands the system of school is a little bit different as the other countries around it. Here in Holland we don’t have a high school or it’s not called a high school, I am currently studying international business & as a wholesaler (I’m in my last year). I think this is a kind of collage, because after my primary I think I intended a high school (the period was 4 years) I don’t know how it is in England or the US (perhaps the same??)?
Actually this wasn’t mine question. What I wanted to ask when I apply end of this year (in the winter 2008/2009) should I only send my diploma of my High school with the transcription or should I add also the transcription of the study what I am intending know the last year of my education?
I have still have a small question left. Are there any conditions of Holland for applying?
Jazak allahu Khairan.
Selamu Alaikum,
Your brother
Walaikum As Salamu Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Yes the education system various from one country to another. Bascially, you have to submit a photocopy of your last acquired educational certificate along with a transcript (grades report/report card) of your marks for your last year of study.
Since you are 18 years old, you should submit the diploma you will get upon the completion of your international business college. Also a transcript of your marks in your courses for this program.
If you will not attain the diploma for this program in time to apply, then submit your last acquired educational certificate along with the transcript of your marks.
InshaAllah you may be eligible for admission into the high school (ath-Thaanawiyyah) [pre-University] branch of the Islamic University of Madinah.
May Allah help and aid you.

As salamum alaikum.
My son Abdul Aleem intends to apply for the next year. You mentioned that applications submitted before this Hajj season only will be considered for next year. If he wants to come personally and submit it and attend interview, will he get a visiting visa now. I heard that visiting visas will not be issued now as the Hajj season is approaching. We are in India. Kindly give me information.
Jazakallah
As Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
To Abdullahi:
If you reside in a country other than the one you were born in, then you should try visiting the Embassy of your home country in your residence country. They might provide a certificate indicating your birth on behalf of your home country.
Otherwise, your date of birth will be visible on your passport copy which you will submit with your application.
May Allah help and aid you.
Walaikum As Salamu Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
To Ayesha Abdul Hazeeb:
If you are not able to personally come before the University closes for the Hajj season, then we advise you to send the application with a person who will be traveling to Madinah during this time, and who is capable to submitting the application at the University. InshaAllah you can send it with a person performing Hajj and ask him to submit the application at the University before the University closes for the Hajj break on Wednesday, December 3, 08.
May Allah help and aid your son.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to get in touch with a current student that could help translate for me at the interview as I am only a beginner in Arabic. I will arrive in Makkah Nov. 24, and Madeenah on Dec. 1, so I will be going to the university the next day of course to come before hte Hajj break..

To Imran:
May Allah fulfil your desire to seek knowledge from the pure sources of the Quran and the Sunnah, as understood by the Salaf of this Ummah.
It does not hurt to apply if you are above 25 by a year or two. There have been rare cases of applicants being accepted who were even up to 27 or 28 years of age. However, this depends on numerous factors, the main one being the applicants country of citizenship. If someone is applying from a country where very few or no applicants reside, then the chance of being accepted even if the applicant is above the age limit if pretty high.
The best option for you would be look at job or investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia with your educational qualifications, and use that as a means to gain Islamic knowledge. InshaAllah you will find much benefit in Saudi Arabia, in terms of learning the Arabic language, memorizing the Quran with Tajweed, and learning from the Ulama who teach in the mosques free of conditions and free of charge.
May Allah make it easy for you and help and aid you.
I am 16 years old. I live in Britain. I study in a secondary school and am in my final year. I have no qualifications but will be doing my GCSE exams soon. Arabic and Islaamic studies are included in my examinations. Am I too young to apply? Do I not have enough qualifications? How do I apply?

As Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
The accepted students list for the academic term September 2009 will be released in the summer.
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,
Mashallah you are doing an amazing job! Brother I had a few questions about the high school (ath-Thaanawiyyah) [pre-University] branch of the Islamic University of Madinah that you mentioned.
I have a bother who is 16 years old and is doing his high school right now. My family is planning to move to saudi arabia and we’d like my brother to enroll in the high school branch. Do you know what the application process for the high school branch is and what documents are required? My Brother deosnt speak arabic, so would he have to finish the arabic language institutes 2yr program, then do the 3 yrs ath-Thaanawiyyah and then go for the 4 yrs Bachelors? Once he’s finishes ath-Thaanawiyyah would he have to process a new application for the Bachelors or would he just upgrade into the program? We’re Canadians living in Dubai right now and my brother is enrolled in a distant education US high school, would that complicate the application process? I’m extremely grateful for any pointers you can give us. Thank you very much brother!
Jazakallahu khair! May allah bestow infinite rahmat on you and your family.
Ma’assalama
Walaikum As Salamu Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
The application process is the same as applying for the Bachelors program. He will have to submit all the documents that are required by the University, except for his high school diploma, which he will not be in possession of. However, he must submit some sort of educational document to show that he is currently studying, i.e. a current transcript of grades.
If he is granted admission into the University, he will have to first complete the 2 year Arabic program, then the 3 years high school, then the 4 years Bachelors program. He does not need to process a new application for this.
May Allah help and aid you.
As Salam Alakum Wa Rahmatulahi WaBaraktau Brother Abu Abdullaah,
I am writing from Canada, and just had a couple of quick questions. I performed Hajj last year Allhumdulliah and had the chance to apply in person when in Madinah after the Hajj, will my application be accepted for this year? I just read that you stated the acceptance list will be available this summer what month can we expect it and will you be posting it online here? And thank you so much for all of your hard work by responding to the Brothers who have inquiries.
Jazak Allah Khair

can you also tell me who teaches currently in medinah in the hadeeth faculty. do you get support for learning quran with tajweed etc from a tutor there????
jazakallah khair
To Abdlrazaq ibn Omar:
As Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
There are many scholars who teach in the Hadith faculty at the University, such as ash-Shaikh Muhammad ibn Hadi al-Madkhali, ash-Shaikh Abdullah al-Bukhari, ash-Shaikh Salih as-Sindi, ash-Shaikh Muhammad al-Hujaili, and many others from the people of knowledge, hafidhahumullah.
BarakAllahu Feeka.
akhi can you tell me what happens if you do not have a taskiya or anything like that? and does sheik mohamed ibn hadee al madkhalee teach there and sheik abdlrazaq al abbad??
To Abdlrazaq ibn Omar:
As Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Submitting two letters of recommendation are required documents which are mentioned on the official application form of the University. This is the norm. However, there have been cases where students have been blessed with acceptance without submitting any recommendation letter.
Yes the two Shaikhs, ash-Shaikh Muhammad ibn Hadi al-Madkhali and ash-Shaikh Abdul-Razzaq ibn Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad (hafidhahumallah) teach in the University, amongst many others from the people of knowledge.
